National Government and International Organizations

The GPC Group has extensive experience in supporting national governments and international organizations in leveraging geospatial and related technologies to meet their broad range of business needs. These programs often involve addressing both institutional and technical frameworks while engaging with very large and complex stakeholder groups representing many sectors, administrative jurisdictions and diverse points of view that all need to be converged around a common approach. We have developed effective methods for stakeholder management and “partnership brokering” that right-size the involvement of all relevant parties in the process, thereby ensuring that all critical needs are addressed and that commitment and buy-in to final solutions are achieved. We are particularly experienced in the planning, design and implementation of Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) programs at national, regional and international levels, as well as federated GIS programs at sub-national levels. Other services include the development of comprehensive national data policies, multi-stakeholder geo-maturity assessments, Smart Development Infrastructure (SDI+) master planning, implementation of geoportals and national data clearinghouse platforms, geo-enabling of eGovernment applications, and the development and adoption of interoperability frameworks. We also conduct organizational design, system design and operations planning for central coordination units where these are required to manage national initiatives, and when required provide staff to support these operations and conduct on-the-job training and capacity building for client staff.
