As part of Majid Al Futtaim Properties (MAFP) strategic direction to transform their operations and enhance their services, GPC has developed during 2017 and early 2018 a GeoSmart Community solution comprising a portal and several business applications including urban planning, community & infrastructure development, analysis and decision support, and others. The foundation phase of the solution impacted a target user base in the range of 100 users in the organization in addition to supporting data management activities for several dozens of consultants and contractors particularly in areas of projects data submittals and spatial data clearinghouse management activities. Furthermore, throughout 2018 until present, GPC provided remote operational support complemented by business consulting support on-demand to core geosmart capacity building staff at MAFP. The operational support activities covered a variety of topics as described below:
Key operational support activities for the MAFP GeoSmart solution
- Remotely managed levels 2 & 3 helpdesk support services: While MAFP representatives handled the internal users enquiries and applications support needs, specific service requests are routed to GPC remote staff who handle the identified priority areas and provide the necessary support accordingly. The provided support included, but was not limited to, the following: bug fixing, data curation and upload services (data backlog management), Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) development and demonstration, operational enhancements on the solution based on task orders, and others
- Proof-of-Concept analysis and on-demand support services: In order to support specific priorities within operations, several POCs were developed by GPC for MAFP GeoSmart operations team comprising, but not limited to, the following: spatial data projects submittal standards, sales data (CRM) integration with the GeoSmart portal, license optimization studies, asset management & facilities management (AM/FM) integration with the GeoSmart portal, in-building assets management, malls navigation solutions as part of customers loyalty program (s), and other studies such as sustainability information management, and decision support reports & dashboards.
- Innovative solutions exploration: As part of the on-going operations, MAFP continues innovating on smart solutions including GeoSmart organization and GeoSmart city solutions and services supporting various community needs. In that regard, GPC works with MAFP business, GIS, and IT representatives as part of operational support on-demand services to identify a comprehensive framework for GeoSmart solutions touching on several facets of organization activities.
