GeoSmart Enterprise GIS Platform for Ports and Infrastructure
CLIENT: Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA)
LOCATION: Saudi Arabia
STARTING YEAR: 2025
| The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) engaged GPC to design, implement, and operate a comprehensive GeoSmart enterprise platform to support spatial data management, infrastructure monitoring, and operational digitization across the Kingdom’s ports and facilities. The initiative aimed to transform fragmented engineering and spatial data into an integrated, intelligent system enabling advanced visualization, analytics, and workflow automation across ZATCA operations.
The solution delivered a fully integrated geospatial ecosystem combining a centralized geoportal with 2D and 3D visualization capabilities, advanced analytical dashboards, and a spatially enabled work permit system governed by GeoSmart business rules. The platform enables users to access and analyze critical assets including infrastructure networks, facilities, and security equipment across land, sea, and air ports, while supporting real-time decision-making through interactive dashboards and reporting tools. A key component of the solution includes advanced data management and validation capabilities, integrating QA/QC tools with geospatial databases to ensure data accuracy and compliance with defined standards. The system is further enhanced through mobile applications enabling field inspections, real-time updates, and improved coordination between stakeholders. The implementation also involved comprehensive spatial data capture, including 2D and 3D mapping of assets and infrastructure using survey technologies, drones, and BIM-based modeling approaches. Following the successful implementation, GPC continued to support ZATCA through operations and maintenance services, ensuring system performance, scalability, and continuous data updates. The solution is hosted within ZATCA’s infrastructure with high-availability architecture, providing a resilient and scalable platform that evolves with operational needs. By consolidating geospatial data, automating workflows, and enabling advanced analytics, the GeoSmart platform has significantly enhanced ZATCA’s operational efficiency, digitized engineering processes, and established a unified system supporting planning, monitoring, and decision-making across its nationwide operations. |
